Master LAM, Kam-Chuen

Master Lam Kam Chuen is the third generation in the lineage of Zhan Zhuang Chi Kung but the true lineage of Chi Kung can be traced back even further to its mysterious and ancient Taoist origin.  In another word, the practice of cultivating human energy has been passing from master to pupil in a lineage that stretches over some 27 centuries.  Works of great Taoist philosophers, such as Lao Tse and Chuang Tse, have long been expressing the many essential qualities inherent in the practice of Zhan Zhuang.

The founder of Zhan Zhuang Chi Kung is Grand Master Wang Xiang Zhai.  Zhan Zhuang is part of a greater body of art known as Da Cheng Chuan.  He journeyed for more than ten years throughout China, studying under great masters of his days.  His name is renowned with many tales and achievements in both his early and elderly years.  Recognized as a master of extraordinary wisdom and prowess, Grand Master Wang Xiang Zhai is most accredited person for unlocking the secrets of Chi Kung for the modern world.

One of his earlier disciples is Yu Yong Nian, who studied orthodox Western medicine and specialized in dentistry.  Being a health-orientated individual, Yu Yong Nian introduced aspects of Zhan Zhuang as treatment for internal diseases at the hospital he was working in.  The success of this venture eventually led to the introduction of Zhan Zhuang in the healthcare system in China.  Now, Professor Yu is recognized as a leading authority in the art of Chi Kung.

Master Lam Kam Chuen was already introduced to this art through a Buddhist master prior to meeting Professor Yu.  His growing interest in this art first led him to correspond with Professor Yu and later studied directly under the man as a disciple.

Master Lam's dedication to this art led him to being acknowledged as a lineage-holder of the tradition by his master and Madam Wang Yuk Fong, the daughter and spiritual heir to Grand Master Wang Xiang Zhai.
